🍽️ Must Order

Beef chow fun — echt wok hei met mals rundvlees en de charme van een echte Kantonese kitchen師傅.

Last weekend, after a long week, I returned with friends to our favorite Cantonese spot in Amsterdam — Oriental City. We had chang fen, pan-fried dumplings, beef chow fun, and fried rice and a lot of different dishes. The cheung fun was silky with just the right sweet-savory sauce. The dumplings had crispy bottoms, juicy filling, and soft tops — so good we ordered more. The beef chow fun had perfect wok hei, tender beef, and generous noodles. The fried rice was fluffy, flavorful, and plenty to share. In pricey Amsterdam, finding authentic, satisfying Chinese food with generous portions is a real treat. No frills, just great taste and full bellies

We recently had dinner at Oriental City with a few friends and had a really nice experience. The location is very convenient, right in the city center, so it’s easy to stop by when you’re around the area. The restaurant has a classic Chinese atmosphere with large round tables, which makes it great for sharing dishes with friends. We ordered several things to share. The shrimp dumplings were fresh and juicy, the BBQ pork buns were soft with a flavorful filling, and the sesame shrimp was crispy on the outside and tender inside. We also enjoyed the shrimp red rice noodle rolls, Yangzhou fried rice, and the dry fried beef ho fun, which had a nice wok flavor. The staff were friendly and service was efficient. The place was quite busy but we didn’t have to wait very long, and the food came out quickly. Overall a great spot if you’re looking for good Chinese food in Amsterdam. I’d happily come back again. ⭐

Best Chinese restaurant Amsterdam – authentic Cantonese near city center If you’re searching for the best Chinese food Amsterdam has to offer, this place truly stands out. It’s also a good Chinese restaurant near Dam Square and the Royal Palace, which makes it super convenient. As an international student living here, I’ve tried many options, but this is easily one of the best Chinese restaurant Amsterdam experiences I’ve had. The rice noodle rolls are silky and fresh, the beef chow fun has real wok hei, and the lamb clay pot is rich and comforting. Dim sum like siu mai and chicken feet taste very authentic. Portions are generous, perfect for sharing with friends. If you want good Chinese restaurant near city center that actually feels traditional, this is the one. Highly recommended.
