“Piejie Hotpot completely exceeded my expectations. The food was incredibly authentic and of truly high quality — you can taste the freshness in every ingredient. I’ve tried multiple hotpot places across the Netherlands, but this is by far the best hotpot I’ve had so far. It truly felt amazing to discover such a standout spot so close to Amsterdam Central. The service was also outstanding. The staff were fast, friendly, and extremely helpful throughout the whole meal, making the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who loves hotpot or just wants a great dining experience!”

“If you’re looking to try something truly different and authentically Chinese, Peijie Hotpot in Amsterdam Chinatown is the place to go. The flavors are bold, complex, and very unique — definitely not adapted for Western tastes. I tried dishes with cartilage and a soft, almost soggy texture — something new for me, but it felt genuinely authentic. The spice level is no joke — even the “low spicy” option was incredibly hot! Overall, it’s a mix of feelings what I have for this spot. Really good if you want a real Chongqing-style experience. But if you’re not used to authentic Chinese spice and textures, you might find it intense.”

“The place is brightly lit, almost annoying. The smell and steam inside are truly overwhelming. In the center of the table is a steel container for broth with side extraction. Unfortunately, the extraction outlet is under the table and doesn't work very well... even my shoes and socks inside smelled of food... I had to wash everything, including my jacket. The service is terrible; orders arrived at different times, max 2 at a time. The ingredients are almost all defrosted or even still frozen, like the meatballs. The calamari arrived whole... still needing to be cleaned. Result: you cook yourself, the ingredients aren't fresh, the cats follow you home because you stink... and you pay €85 with two small beers...”
